Services Available

We welcome mares to visit our own stallions and can provide livery at grass with hedge and post & rail fencing. Mares can be turned out individually, in pairs or in small social groups. 

If you choose to have your mare stabled at night this will include straw bedding, bringing in and out with turnout during the day. 

Any farrier, veterinary and worming are not included but can be added on in addition to livery. 

With a wide choice of stallions available we can help take the hassle out it by handling your mare for the vet to scan, ordering the semen at the right time and inseminating your mare when the semen arrives.  

With our vets visiting Monday/Wednesday/Friday through the stud season and good access to our yard mare owners are able to bring their mares by arrangement to have their mares scanned in our Monarch Stocks providing a safe environment for all concerned. 

With AI technicians on site we'll happily inseminate your mare at the right time if required. 

We have dedicated foaling boxes and take a limited number of mares for foaling here at West End Farm Stud. 

An experienced team will carefully monitor your mare.  Once your foal has arrived it will be handled. 

And should you decide to put your mare back in foal we can help with that as well. 

Facilities include CCTV in large spacious foaling boxes with deep straw bed. Nursery paddock for those first trips to the field. Stocks should you wish to put your mare back in foal 

There are several differnet methods of weaning foals. 

We generally opt for a gradual weaning when foals reach around 6 months of age.  This can be done in several ways.  

We can offer this service, particulary for those with just one foal.  It can make it a less stressful situation for mare, foal and owner.
